چکیده

Parametric correspondence is a technique for matching images to a three dimensional symbolic reference map. An analytic camera model is used to predict the location and appearance of landmarks in the image, generating a projection for an assumed viewpoint. Correspondence is achieved by adjusting the parameters of the camera model until the appearances of the landmarks optimally match a symbolic description extracted from the image The matching of image and map features is performed rapidly by a new technique, called "chamfer matching", that compares the shapes of two collections of shape fragments. at a cost proportional to linear dimension, rather than area These two techniques permit the matching-of spatially extensive features on the bas1s of shape. which reduces the risk of ambiguous matches and the dependence on viewing conditions inherent in conventional image. based correlation matching.

New Pseudo-CT Generation Approach from Magnetic Resonance Imaging using a Local Texture Descriptor

Background: One of the challenges of PET/MRI combined systems is to derive an attenuation map to correct the PET image. For that, the pseudo-CT image could be used to correct the attenuation. Until now, most existing scientific researches construct this pseudo-CT image using the registration techniques. However, these techniques suffer from the local minima of the non-rigid deformation energy f...

Evaluation of Similarity Measures for Template Matching

Image matching is a critical process in various photogrammetry, computer vision and remote sensing applications such as image registration, 3D model reconstruction, change detection, image fusion, pattern recognition, autonomous navigation, and digital elevation model (DEM) generation and orientation. The primary goal of the image matching process is to establish the correspondence between two ...

Efficient Feature Correspondence for Image Registration

Feature correspondence is an important step in image registration. Chamfer matching is a process of establishing the feature correspondence of an object (subimage) in an image where both the subimage and the image are binary. Chamfer matching establishes correspondence based on low level features. It is the process of locating the template within the image by shifting the template within the im...

Shape Context and Chamfer Matching in Cluttered Scenes

This paper compares two methods for object localization from contours: shape context and chamfer matching of templates. In the light of our experiments, we suggest improvements to the shape context: Shape contexts are used to find corresponding features between model and image. In real images it is shown that the shape context is highly influenced by clutter, furthermore even when the object is...
